Tier 2 extension, part time work and ILR

Post by spunjabi » Mon Jul 28, 2014 12:02 pm

Hi ,

Can anyone help on this please?

I have a Tier 2 (General) visa which is going to expire soon ( Jan 2015) .It has been more than 2 years since I started full time work on Tier 2 General visa. My sponsors are happy to give me extension for another three years but not as a full time worker, rather on a part time basis which means reduced number of working hours and reduced salary . My queries are:

1 Is it possible to extend the Tier 2 visa like this?

2 Will I be able to qualify for ILR in June 2016 on this basis ( 2 years of full time and 3 years on part time )?

3 Date written on first BRP issued for T2 is considered for counting 5 years for ILR application or it is the date when i applied Tier 2 first time? For eg. I switched from T4 to T2 in month of April 2012 but I was issued BRP in month of June ( 18 June 2012) . Which date will be considered to count my period on T2 visa?

Thank you in advance!
