Tier 2 Visa (General) - Urgent Query

I have a CoS and duration of my job is 2 years and 11 months. I will apply for a tier 2 visa from Islamabad (Pakistan).

1. What will be the duration of my visa? Up to 3 or more than 3 years?

2. Normally how many days before should I made an online application for a visa?

3. For English language requirement, I have a statement of comparability. Should I also submit original degree as supporting document?

2. As per T2 guidance, you must apply within three months from the date your Certificate of Sponsorship was assigned. You must also apply no more than three months before the start date on your Certificate of Sponsorship.

1. My HR department told me that I should apply for Tier 2 (General) leave to remain visa. Would it be up to 3 or more than 3? Or it is my choice?

2. Suppose I made an online application today. When will I get an appointment for submitting documents? Or they flexible?

1. If you are applying from outside UK, it has to be an entry clearance application. Leave to remain application are for those who are already in UK and wish to extend their existing visa in case of expiry or change of employer.

2. Since you CoS is for 2 yrs 11 months, your visa application should be according to that. It should be upto 3 yrs. It's not your choice!

3. Once you submit the online form and do the payment, you will get an option to select the date of your choice. It's all online nowadays.
