Trie 2 General - Travelling outside UK close to visa expiry

Hello everyone,

I am on Tier 2 general visa. My visa expires on 30th Jan 2015.

I am about to start application for new visa for my new employment. Assuming everything goes as planned and I do get my new Tier 2 general visa, say from 15th November. I intend to join the second job soon after that (say 20th November). Somewhere in between I want to travel to my home country India for 2 weeks. Would there be any legal issues with travelling outside UK on my old visa when it is about to expire due to issue of a new visa to me?

Once you are issued a new Tier 2 visa, you cannot come back on the old visa. Your old visa will be deemed cancelled irrespective of its original end date.

What if start date of new visa is in future, say 3 weeks away? So till that time isn't my old visa still in effect?
