Tier 2 ICT after Apr 2011 making new Tier 2 General app

Post by debim19 » Sat Oct 04, 2014 9:19 am

Hi All,
I am in a Tier 2 ICT Long Term visa and I came to UK in Apr 2012. I am getting sponsorship offers for Tier 2 General and I want to get a Tier 2 General visa. As far as I am aware I would not be able to switch to Tier 2 General for some weird rule which does not make any sense. However would I be able to make a fresh application of Tier 2 General from my home country.

Before replying please read the whole context.
I have read and heard some really confusing things about the Tier 2 general process when applying from ICT Long term.
By reading from the UK gov website I did not find any rule where a cooling off period is required to make a new application to Tier 2 General. Only if you want to re apply as Tier 2 ICT a cooling off period 1 year is required.

Please confirm if my understanding is correct

Agree with physicskate. Read Page 129 onwards on T2 Sponsor Guidance for detailed info on Cooling off period.
