T2G out of country switch

Post by kbala » Tue Jan 06, 2015 3:05 pm

Hi board members,

I am currently in T2G ICT. Entered UK in Oct 2010 and visa is expiring in Apr 2015. One of the employers has agreed to process T2G visa. However my current employer has asked to return to my home country(India) by early Feb 2015.

Given this is the situation,

1. Can I switch to T2G visa after I go back to India
2. Is there a cooling off period required for out of country T2G switch
3. For in country switch - How long the T2G switch process takes considering my new employer has already done the job advertising and ready to issue the CoS.
4. At what point its safe to submit the resignation with my current employer - typically the notice period with my current employer is around 1-2 months.

Thanks in advance

no - switching by definition is in-country

2. Is there a cooling off period required for out of country T2G switch
yes, 1 year cooling-off if you apply for entry clearance from home country

not long if you get a premium service appointment or use the priority postal service

4. At what point its safe to submit the resignation with my current employer - typically the notice period with my current employer is around 1-2 months.
it is only safe to resign after your new leave has been granted. The work start date in the new CoS should be determined taking account of your notice period as you are allowed to work for your present employer until that date.

Thanks in advance
