Tier 2 ICT long term visa is ILR or extension possible

Dear All,

I am in UK last 5 months on this visa, realized very late on the limitations of my Visa type. I have kids in year 6, I am worried about their education after 5 years, if I have to leave UK abruptly. Cool off period I believe is 12 months to return back. Which does not help my kids. My question is,

1. Is there a way to extend this visa beyond 5 years ?
2. Is there a way to get into the path of ILR?

As I believe there is a way to extend if salary is more than certain limit, but not sure how long it can be extended and will it lead to ILR then.

This is critical for me and my family, any advice is appreciated a lot. Thanks a ton in advance..

2. Is there a way to get into the path of ILR? Not possible with this visa category. Switch to Tier 2 General for ILR, but that requires 12 months cooling-off period

I came across a clause which gave an option to extend if the salary is over £153k.. how does this work? What is the extension expected to get? Will this still not lead to ILR? Please clarify.
