Dependent BRP Card Correction

Post by kbala » Thu Jan 08, 2015 6:54 pm

Hi Boardmembers,

I am on T2 ICT since Oct2010, last year had applied for in country extension and the new BRP card was issued with incorrect end date (Feb 2015 instead of Apr 2015). I / Employer did not notice this mistake. Also I wanted to bring my family from India to UK through dependent visa. My employer had processed dependent visa for my family in India with my visa/BRP card that had incorrect end date.

The dependent visas also came with end date as Feb 2015 (same end date as mine). Family had travelled last year (May 2014) and they are here with me in UK.

The mistake in the visa end date was spotted at a latter date (July 2015) and when I checked with my employer they said correction is possible only for my BRP card and not for my family (reason they have stated is because my BRP card was issued in UK so its possible to correct, whereas for my family it was issued in Chennai, India so correction is not possible). I did not bother much because my project work was anyway finishes in Dec 2014.

I did send my card for correction and received a new card with correct end date. Now my project work is extended till Mar 2015 and after this I have to return to India, however my family had to return even before (Feb 2015)because their visa end date is as per my previous BRP card with end date error.

I am trying to see whether the dependent visa end dates can be corrected so that we can travel together when returning to India.

Are there any routes to get this corrected directly with UKBA instead of going through my employer. Please share your views if someone had faced similar issues in the past.

Thanks in advance.
Bala
