Promotion under tier2

Hi I'm currently on Tier 2 general Visa and I have received a promotion in my job from an analyst to a senior analyst in the same division and with the same employer. My leave to remain is due for extension in July 2015. What is the correct procedure to follow in terms of a promotion. I'm told that my current role does not change with the promotion. Please advise.
