IHS Reference generated after visa apply

Hi,

I have submitted my visa application without IHS reference and then got following email from immigration office about Immigration Health Surcharge

Thank you for your application for entry clearance to the United Kingdom.

You have applied in a category that is exempt from paying the surcharge but you are required to provide a Health Surcharge reference number. On this occassion we have shared your details with the Department of Health so that your eligibility to access medical treatment in the UK can be confirmed.

On your next application you are requried to visit https://www.immigration-health-surcharg ... ment/start and complete the online process which will provide you with a reference number. You will need your passport number in order to do this.

I am not sure what to do next. I have generate IHS reference number and revert back this email with IHS number. Is that enough or I need to re-apply, does it needs visa fee again, what is next step, when would I expect my visa.

Any help would be appreciated.

you need to do nothing except perhaps thank the ECO for his/her helpfulness

ECO tends for Entry Clearance Officer and he has helped you sending you the complete message what is required to do.

You were lucky that ECO was very kind with you and sorted out your IHS hiself/herself. You do not need to do anything. He/She has just informed you that if you make any future application then you should get IHS reference number yourself.

The ECO has the right to reject application if no IHS reference number is provided (even though one is exempt to pay IHS charges). In your case, ECO was very kind and helpful that he/she had not reject your visa application.

Thank you Hassanh, I feel blessed by ECO. It is my first time to apply visa and this IHS just made mandatory in Apr 2015. I was not aware about this. I hope, I will get visa soon.

Hi Rathore,

Which visa category you applied for? Just wondering it must not be Tier 2 visa as it is not exempt from IHS?

Tier 2 ICT visas are exempt from Heath Surcharge.
