T2 ICT Long Term Staff to T2 General

Hi All,

As per https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/switch-to-this-visa
Am i eligible to change my sponsor(Can i switch to a different company with T2 General Visa Category being in UK). My current status is : T2 ICT Long Term Staff Partner valid from 1st Feb 2015-Feb 2018.

PS:Visa was issued from India.

Kindly update me on the same.

No. Only tier 2 ICT allocated before April 2011 can switch to Tier 2 General inside UK without cooling off. Since your visa was allocated in 2015 you have to apply from your home country after cooling off of 12 months.

Yes, you can switch from T2 ICT dependent to T2G. You must apply from your home country after having passed the RLMT. You should be issued a RESTRICTED CoS. You would be exempt from cooling off.

I am sorry for misinformation. Above is correct for Tier 2 ICT main applicant and not for partner. As a Tier 2 ICT partner you can switch to Tier 2 General without any cooling off period but you have to apply for entry clearance from your home country as stated above by physicskate
