Forgor to register with OVRO

Post by student2016 » Fri Jan 29, 2016 9:40 pm

Hi All,

I haven't registered with OVRO (Overseas Visitors Records Office) in time. Though, I do have a valid PRC (Police Registration Card) with current address record where I currently live, registered at the local police station. Do I still need to go to OVRO?

In details, the situation is the following. I entered the country as a TIER4 student, registered with the police, got PRC. After the graduation I got a job, switched to TIER2 (from within the UK), moved to London. I also registered with the local London police and got a new stamp in my PRC. Though, I completely forgot about OVRO. I've been working in the UK for almost 2 years now and just realized that OVRO stamp is missing.

Do I need to go to OVRO now? If yes - will I face any penalties?

Thanks a lot in advance.

If you are a student (from specified list of countries) & live in Met Police catchment
area you should be registered.

If you were supposed to but have never registered that would be a big problem now (criminal offence) & for the future (future visas).

If you have registered with another police service it may just be a case of transferring the record.

But you don't seem to be a student anymore.
Suggest check ovro website.
