Tier 2 Gen - change of job and return of current BRP

Hi Experts,

I have Tier 2 Gen Visa (Employer sponsored). Now I have got another job offer (UK Employer) whilst in UK.
My current tier 2 is valid till Dec 2017.
I have two questions:

1. I know that I may not have to resign until the new SoC (via new employer) has been approved and I got the new visa. In case I resign now, I understand that I would be given 60 days to remain (leave curtailment). Is that right?

2. If I resign now, can my current employer ask me to submit my BRP card immediately?

I'll greatly appreciate for the genuine advice.

your employer doesnt ask u to submit your brp. they only inform the ukvi, and it is on them to curtail your leave to 60 days (if and when they like), and will send you a letter of new end date of leave. your current brp doesnt go anywhere
