Visa4UK Tier 2 Online Application

Hi,
I am currently on a Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa. I have been sponsored by my employer for a Tier 2 Visa so I need to go back to Australia to switch my visa over. My husband will be applying for the dependant visa so he can also continue to work in the UK.
My question is: Can I complete and submit the online application on Visa4UK before I leave the UK as long as I am in Australia for my biometrics appointment? I have been told it takes a few days after submitting the application to be able to book an appointment.
I am trying to minimise the time I need to spend in Australia as I will be on unpaid leave. I will pay for the priority processing also.
