hi, i am a registered nurse working in nhs , i am currently on tier2 general and my extension of visa is due on july 14th 2016, as reffering to the novemer 17th 2015 the nurses has been on shortage occupation list , which application i have to consider for my extension, is it still same tier2 (general ) or tier 2 general (shortage occupation ).

how early i can apply for an extension ..?

You should apply for extension under tier 2 shortage occupation providing your grade and your job specification satisfy the descriptions as per code of practise (nurse)

You can apply 3 months before your current leave expiry, but it's recommend to get it done just before a month visa expires. Because if you apply very early then you will get 3 years from the date of application. So it's always best to apply close by dates but not more than a month.

Yes you will eligible for ilr after 5 years and exemption from £35k salary as well, but your salary must be or over the rate as per code of practise for nurse
