Change of salary due to Promotion

Hello All,

I am on Tier 2 visa and my employer has sponsored me. I got a tier 2 visa on 17th November,2014. I got a promotion last week. I just want to confirm does my employer needs to update anything or do they need to inform Home office via Certificate sponsorship portal on which they have access? Do they need to generate a new CoS?

My job role is same but salary changed due to promotion.

I will be very thankful if anyone can point me to the correct UKBA documents if any for this purpose so that I can show my employer that document.

Your employer needs to log in to the SMS and inform UKVI about your change of salary doing a report. Apart from that no need to generate a new CoS.

Part of the Sponsor Duties. Page 48 "Reporting Duties". Everything should be followed imo

Your employer must report:

d) If there are any significant changes in the sponsored migrant’s circumstances, for
example:
 a promotion or change in job title, or core duties, other than those which need
a change of employment application; For more information, please see change
of employment;
 a change of salary from the level stated on the CoS, other than changes
due to annual increments or bonuses;
 a change of salary from that stated on the CoS due to maternity, paternity shared
parental or adoption leave, or a period of long-term sick leave lasting one month
or longer;
 the location they are employed at changes (including where a sports player moves
on loan).
