TB test exemption

Hi all,

I am a bit confused with the TB test. I have been living in the UK for 1.5 years on Tier-4 visa with my wife as a dependant. We then left the uk for 6 months and she is now applying for Tier 2 visa and I am applying as her dependant. Do we need to take TB screening as a part of our application? The rules state that returning residents who were absent for no more than 2 years do not need to take it, but are we considered as returning residents?
