ICT --> Student --> General --> ILR

Post by Unknown_user » Sat Mar 09, 2019 12:22 pm

I am working in the UK on ICT Tier 2 Visa since last 2 years. I now plan to do a full-time MBA on Tier 4 Student visa. I am aware that after the full-time course (of 12 months duration) I can then apply for a Tier 2 General Visa, without having to worry about going back to my home country for 12 months mandatory cooling off.

However, I would like to understand whether after getting Tier 2 General visa, would I have to wait for another 5-6 years to get ILR or would the previous years spent on other visa (2 yrs in ICT + 1 yr on Tier 4 student) count towards the 5-6 years required for ILR?

Visa categories cannot be combined for ILR under the 5 year route, only for 10 years long residence.
