Got the passports back not BRP

Hi Experts,

I had applied for my Tier2 Visa extension (T2 Leave to Remain) along with family members on March 20 2019 by normal post.
Yesterday I got all of our passports back but no further info about BRP or decision status.

Could you please let me know if this is the normal way or how / where I need to enquire further on this ?
