I received Tier 2 visa for 6 months March 15th to Sept 14 the 2019. Spread over two months I have received two BRPs (referred as 1st and 2nd) with unique numbers and issue date but all other details same. Since I was out of the country the second BRP was delivered quite late.
Hence I just assumed that 2nd BRP is a printing error caused by BRP team and preserved it as a souvenir!!. In last few months I had been in and out of UK three times and had used 1st BRP at the UK border, which is also the BRP proof I had submitted to my employer.
After 4 months (June last week) I received a mail from BRP OA Tech, that my 1st BRP remains cancelled and I have to send this BRP for destruction and retain the 2nd BRP. But the 2nd BRP number that I have to retain does not match with BRP number communicated by BRP OA Tech Team. Only one of the middle digit of the BRP# is different!!, hence assumed that it is a typographic error in the mail communicated by BRP OA Tech Team. Furthermore I was not planning to stay in UK and was not bothered enough to send the BRP back
My BRP expires about 6 weeks on Sept 14, 2019 and my employer has very recently extended my contract and unfortunately applied CoS (Certificate of Sponsorship) with cancelled BRP#.It was my mistake I did not notify them about valid 2nd BRP number.To comply with BRP OA Tech mail after 45 days ,I sent 1st BRP for destruction (to BRP Destruction address) along with a letter explaining the circumstances. I haven't received any replies from BRP Team.
I do not want my employer to raise another CoS unless BRP team confirms my BRP is valid, but BRP destruction team neither has a phone number nor a mail ID ? whom should I contact now ?
