Police Clearance Certificate for Dependent of Tier 2 Migrant

Post by jacobmabraham » Tue Sep 17, 2019 7:24 pm

Hi all
I am currently in the UK on a tier 2 (general visa). My wife and kid plans to join me soon as dependents. While I was applying for police clearance for my wife, there it asks "Purpose for which Police clearance is required" and the options were as follows:
1) Citizenship/Nationality application
2) Education/Research
3) Employment visa/work permit
4) Immigration purposes other than citizenship
5) Long term visa/stay
6) Residence permit
7) Tourist visa
8) Others

I actually took option 3 thinking that she can work even if on dependent visa. Now she got clearance which states "there is no adverse information which would render her ineligible for employment visa/work permit in the UK". One of friends said she applied with option 5 which is long term visa/stay. I am confused with this. Should I ask my wife to get another clearance certificate with option 5 or is the one which we already got enough. Has anyone got their dependent visa even with option 3 on clearance certificate ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hope to get a reply soon as we are a bit short of time.
Regards
Jacob
