tier 2 dependent and doctors training

Post by Adam22 » Fri Nov 08, 2019 12:45 pm

Hello,
I'm on tier 2 dependent visa currently and I'd like to apply for a training post as a doctor

1) Am I eligible to apply, provided that if I got accepted the HEE will issue my CoS
2) If I managed to get the training post as a tier 2 general migrant, will this affect my application for ILR? i.e: will I have to re-start the 5 years period after getting tier 2 general visa?

I've been searching everywhere, and there's no clear documentation regarding this situation, even on the gov.uk main site. I'm sure there are lots of people experiencing my situation, so please would you kindly help me and give me a proper advice?

Many thanks

Yes you can apply for post and then change to Tier 2 General but you cannot work as a doctor/dentist on Dependent visa. Hope you're aware of this

Yes you ILR will zero, you will have to complete full 5 years again when you change to Tier 2 General
