Tier 2 Dependent (Spousal) - 2 year living requirement

Post by pupppish » Wed Mar 11, 2020 5:37 pm

Hi there

My unmarried partner and I of 5 years originally arrived in the UK around two years ago on tier 5 youth mobility visas. My partner recently got sponsored on a Tier 2 (General) PBS visa, and I am now applying for a Tier 2 Dependent Spousal Visa.

Part of the requirement states that I must provide:

Items of correspondence addressed to [me] and [my partner] at the same address as evidence you have been living together since your last grant of leave in this category, or from the date you first started living together, covering the last 2 years.

While my partner and I have been living together for around 4 years total, we were temporarily apart in late April-July 2018, when I arrived early in the UK to find a flat for us and our dog to live in, and my partner remained in Australia. This period falls within the past 2 years.

Do you have any suggestions about how I cover this period off in my application, given we weren't technically living together at the time?

Thanks :)
