Director of a company abroad while on Tier 2 visa

I am on a tier 2 visa, living in the UK. Before coming here, my friends and I were working on a business idea back home (overseas). The idea now looks very promising. We are in the process of registering a company in my home country (overseas) and as one of the co-founders I wish to be listed as one of the directors of the company.

What impact will this have on my tier 2 visa. I work full time for my employer here and on this idea on the weekends. Am I allowed to be a director of a company overseas whilst living in the UK and working full time on a tier 2 visa?

In a strange twist, I got offered a reassignment at work today so I will be moving back home to the States this summer! Decided it's best to postpone the company formation till then. Such a relief...
