Tier-2 visa extension

Hi,

I need some advise on following matter.

My current tier 2 visa is expiring on 14 Jan'21. I have a new employer who is willing to issue me a COS in Dec'20.

So, my question is

- When is new skilled worker route is coming in force? Is it from 1st Dec'20 or 1st Jan'21?

- If I apply visa under new employer, Then it will be granted as a Tier-2 visa or Skilled worker visa?

- I have entered in the UK under Tier-2 visa on 1st Jun 2016. I understand maximum Tier-2 stay is 6 years.
If I get my visa under skilled worker visa, in that case will it still be counting toward max 6 years period
from my initial Tier-2 visa?

I have a similar question in regards to your last point where will the previous tier 2 be merged and counted as over all 6 ? Or the new PBS skilled route visa will be year 1 when extended?

Would be grateful if someone could shed some light on this issue.
