IHS underpayment but CoS note has ‘amended’ end date

Post by mahekkp » Thu Sep 14, 2023 11:45 pm

Hi All,

I have applied for my skilled worker visa and have been assigned CoS for a period of 3 year starting Jul23.

I only wanted till end of Dec’24 to avoid IHS for myself and my dependant as I will be eligible for ILR in 2024.
So my sponsor added a note with the new end date before I applied for my skilled worker.

At the start of 8th week (standard decision time) I received an email to top up my IHS, the tola amount comes to a period of 3 years instead of 18 months .
I have reached out to my employer and have submitted a supporting letter to the email id mentioned in the email I received.

Any advice if I should pay the IHS and then claim the refund, caveat if given a three year visa , I won’t be able to claim the refund back as per published rules .

Or

Should I wait for a response ?

I only have ten working days and I am at my 6th working day now.

Thanks
