Moving from care visa to skilled worker visa, do the dependents need to apply too?

Post by sarrial » Tue Mar 19, 2024 1:48 pm

Hi

A friend of my have been on care visa for just more than 1 year. However, she is finding it too difficult and has got an offer in her own domain as a HR manager and company can sponsor her visa too as a skilled worker.

I understand she can switch from care to skilled worker visa and her previous 1+ year would be counted towards ILR. Can someone please confirm?

Also, do her dependents need to apply again or they can stay based on previous leave to remain as dependent of care visa holder? I think when someone switches employer within skilled worker, dependents don't need to apply until their or main applicant leave expires.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Her time on health and care will be counted, as it's also skilled worker; dependents can stay as they are.
