Skilled Worker Dependent Extension- IHS Payment Difference

Post by mapsan » Mon May 13, 2024 11:07 am

Hello everyone,

My family and I, already residing in the UK, have recently extended our visas without much issue, thanks to all the great guidance I received here. However, I noticed discrepancies in the IHS fee payments, even though all our current BRPs expire on 14.07.2024. For a three-year extension, I paid £3105 for myself (covering 6 six-month periods). In contrast, I paid £2716 for my three-year-old son and £3622 for my wife, which strangely looks like covering 7 six-month periods for them.

Although we all have valid BRPs and are currently living in the UK, and even though we previously paid the IHS fees for them as well, we were charged again as if they were joining me now with this extension application, which is not the case. Consequently, we had to pay an extra term to cover them until 14.07.202 ,which makes no sense as we paid twice for the same period.

Am I correct in this assumption? If so, can I submit an application for a refund?
