HSMP Extension - Mainteanance Issue

Post by bruno123 » Thu Jan 22, 2009 7:49 pm

Hello Guys / Gals
Please let me have your thoughts on my situation:

I got my HSMP Visa endorsement in my passport in Jan 2007 but could land in the UK only in June 2008 and Jan 2009 is my renewal month; I applied for renewal this month and satisfied all the eligibility criteria except the maintenance funds for my HSMP dependant spouse. I could not maintain GBP1600 consistently on all the 90 days in the month as the balance had gone up to GBP1100, for 2 weeks in a span of 90 days. But my spouse is fully employed and she is neither dependent on Public funds nor on my salary.

In this regard, when the Home office evaluates my spouse's Visa for Maintenance, is her employment given any weightage? Also, if my HSMP Ext is rejected, by that time, my leave to remain would have also expired, will we have any chance to appeal / a chance to explain that we can fully support ourselves? Besides, will we be asked to deport immediately from the UK or will there be any lead time given?

Your suggestions and advice will be helpful.
