ILR Application and Dependents Visa Extension

Post by NA107 » Tue Jul 16, 2024 1:23 pm

Hi There,

Seeking advice on the following:

I will apply for my ILR in September after completing the 5-year residency requirement. My wife and my BRP will expire in October, but she has not yet completed the 5-year requirement for the ILR.

Can she apply for her visa extension only after I get my ILR or can we both submit our application's at the same time?

Thanks!

You can submit same time however decision on her application will be on hold till decision is made on your own application.

Thanks, couple more questions:

1. Are the applications somehow linked to each other? Is it using some unique reference?

2. From what I've read so far, it is mandatory to extend for 3 and also pay 3 years of IHS fees for my wife, however, my wife will be eligible for the ILR after 1 year of extension. Does the IHS fee get refunded in this instance?

Thanks Again

Dependent Visa Extension when main applicant has applied for ILR

Post by NA107 » Wed Sep 18, 2024 3:29 pm

Hi There,

My wife's and my BRPs are both expiring on the 14th of October. I have applied for my ILR, and my biometrics appointment is next week. However, I have a couple of questions about the form for my wife's visa extension.

1. based on my research this is the link where she should apply, please can anyone confirm?
https://apply-to-visit-or-stay-in-the-u ... anner=true

2. Within this form the following questions I am unsure of:

A. Has your spouse or partner applied to work to study in the UK? (I've applied for ILR so shall I put a Yes here?)

B. What visa have they applied for? (There is no option for ILR, so shall I put Skilled worker here?)

Many thanks in Advance!
