Hello everyone, I need some advice regarding the Skilled Worker dependent visa extension. My husband holds a Skilled Worker visa, and I am currently working in the UK as his dependent. Due to a health issue, I need to travel to India and may not be able to return immediately. However, our visas are set to expire in Jun 2025.

Would it be possible for my children and me to apply for a dependent visa extension from India? Has anyone faced a similar situation? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, as we are scheduled to travel in a week. Thank you

You need to apply for any extension/FLR application from within the UK AND stay in the UK until it is decided/approved. If you leave the UK while the application is in progress, the application is automatically considered withdrawn.

If you are in India when your current visa expires, you'll likely need a fresh entry visa application from India and your ILR clock will likely be reset to zero and restart with the new entry clearance grant.

If there are any dependent children born outside the UK, they will follow the same immigration pathway as the less-privileged parent, in this case, you.
