ILR clock query

Post by chakings22 » Tue Apr 01, 2025 11:22 am

Dears,

I entered the UK on the 18th of July. My visa start date is 26th of May. I am about to apply for extension. Should I go for 2 years or 3 years as I have a shortfall of 50 days. My current visa expires on the 29th of May. When it comes to ILR, is my entry date is considered or my visa start date on the passport is considered.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Victor

There is a post from 2022 where you say you were applying for naturalisation, what's this extension exactly for? Also we don't know what years are these dates related to.

Under the SW route, the date of entry is irrelevant for ILR, it's the visa start date that counts.
