Sponsorship, Timeline, and Biometrics

The situation:

A prospective employer whom I am meeting tomorrow is not on the register of sponsors.

If they start the application process this week, how long is it likely to take for them to get a licence and issue me with a CoS?

From the moment I get the CoS and apply for the Tier 2, how long is it likely to take to get approval?

I am currently on the old Work Permit with my present employer, but as my employment with this company officially ceases on April 21, am I likely to run into problems?
