Tier2, applied in NYC, referred to UK, no result for 3 weeks

Post by Infinity » Sun Jun 12, 2011 12:08 am

Hi,

Did anybody had experience when during visa application process NY consulate sent requests to London?

- How much time did it take?
- Is it possible that the company writes support letter to UK Border Agency in London to help facilitate the process?

My problem is that my job starts on July 4th and I need to travel out of US as soon as possible to see relatives and relax before the job but cannot do it because the passport is in UK consulate.

I applied for:

- Tier 2 General, Employee Sponsored visa
- Used Priority Service
- UK consulate in NY got the documents on May 20, 2011
- Russian citizen

So far no result (3 weeks passed). WorldBridge informed me that the request was sent to UK:

"WorldBridge Service has contacted the visa section on your behalf and received the response that your application is being handled as a priority case but is considered to be non-straightforward. They are making further enquiries on your application in line with UK immigration policy."

My visa advisers said that:
- UK consulate in NY didn't refer to UK for many years and just started to do that again
- Usually it takes two weeks

Thanks

where does it say that your request has been 'referred to the UK Border Agency in London?'

This is my assumption, which may be wrong.

Where do you think they may have sent this request?
