about start date of tier 2 (change employer)

Hi, guys,

I am currently under Tier 2, and will change my employer. I have got a new CoS from the new employer, but the start date is a bit early than the realistic start date. It is unlikely that I can obtain a visa before the start date indicated in the CoS.

I am a bit concerned when I should notice my current employer of leaving. Am I allowed to work for my current employer until my new Visa is issued, even it is after the started date as specified in the new CoS?
