Can i get visa on time ? Please help.

I applied my visa about 6 week ago and my biometrics taken about 3 weeks ago. I still did not receive my visa and i am afraid i can not get it on time beacuse i want to go back to my country on new year.

Is there any number that i can contact to check my process? Does UKBA works during Christmas time (23 December 2011 - 1 Jan 2012)?
