PSW-Tier2: Combining duration as agency and permanent staff

Post by dayesto » Wed Feb 01, 2012 5:06 pm

Hi all, pls can anyone advice me, am confused!!!

I currently hold post-study visa and am on a full time employment on a permanent basis hoping to apply for tier 2 general next month, all things being equal.

I started working as an agency staff and worked for 6 months before switching to a permanent position on the same job with the same employer.

I have worked for a total of 9 months with my current employer, 6 months as an agency staff and 3 months as a permanent staff.

My first six months payslip shows my agency’s name and the remaining three months show my employer’s name.

My Question is this:

Is it possible to make an application by combining the total duration I have worked in order to meet the minimum requirement of at least 6 months with same employer as in paragraph 97 & 99 of the Tier 2 policy guidance?

Many thanks all.

Hi Day,

As far as I understand you can apply for Tier 2 as soon as you finish your 6 month working with your employer. Provided that you can demonstrate that you were offered the same position as you were as agency worker. And you doing the same sort of job/ work as you were before. If you can provide satisfactory documents to prove your case, you are deemed eligible for Tier 2.
