30 hours funding on Tier2 Visa

Post by coventry2011 » Tue Sep 12, 2017 8:40 am

Hi All,

Please do you confirm if individuals on Tier 2 eligible for 30 hours funding.
Our visa clearly states 'NO RECOURCE TO PUBLIC FUNDS'.

And the Edibility criteria

To be eligible you (and your partner if you have one) must:
•live in England
•expect to earn the equivalent to 16 hours a week at the National Living Wage or National Minimum Wage

You and your partner must be employed, or must expect to start a new job within 14 days of applying.

You’re not eligible if you:
•have an income of more than £100,000
•aren’t entitled to receive public funds

Please confirm
Thanks
PJ

Are you asking about the 30 hours free child care?

See the heading Government Funded Childcare (click), 30 hours cannot be claimed if you have no recourse to public funds.
Government funded childcare

Children age 3 and 4 - 15 hours free childcare
In England, all children of age three and four are entitled to 570 hours of free childcare or early education each year, which must be taken over at least 38 weeks, for example, 15 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year. This can be provided to children in NRPF households.

Children age 3 and 4 - 30 hours free childcare
From September 2017, parents who are working and earning on average at least £120 per week will be able to apply for an additional 570 hours of free childcare each year. Children may also be eligible if a parent is on maternity, paternity or adoption leave, or unable to work due to a disability or caring responsibilities.

A parent who has leave to remain with the NRPF condition cannot apply for this additional childcare. However if they have a partner who is entitled to apply who does have recourse to public funds then they may make the application instead.

Hi
Just want to ask that My Husband Hold ILR and I hold Tier 2 Dependant. Then can we claim 30 hours funding for our child. He is working full time and I am working 17 hours part time.

Same situation here,

MY wife got ILR last year from Tier 2 General, and I am in Tier 2 Dependant visa. Both of us working full time. Can we claim 30 hours funding?
