Tier 2 - going to be terminated and applying for a new job

Post by ForeverMigrant » Fri Nov 15, 2019 11:30 am

Hi all,

I am a Tier 2 general migrant on 5 years visa. After 2 years of employment my employer decided to terminate me, but they want to be nice to me, so we agreed that they will let me have some time to find a new job before I leave. We agreed that I'll notify them myself of my leave before the end of the year and after this I'll still have one month at the old company.

So I am actively looking for a job now, but of course I don't want to say to recruiters the real reason why I am in search. I also hope that I'll be able to find a new job more quickly than I have to notify my employer, but this is not guaranteed.

I am concerned about the following scenario: what if I get an offer, but for some reason it is delayed and I have to leave the company I currently work for? Would the process of applying for the visa will be different in this case or the same? Would I have to notify the new employer that I have left the company earlier if they already made me an offer?

Thanks

Then you leave. Your visa is not cancelled immediately.
Would the process of applying for the visa will be different in this case or the same?
No difference.
Would I have to notify the new employer that I have left the company earlier if they already made me an offer?
No.

Thank you very much! I guess my questions are trivial, but I wasn't able to find the answers anywhere. You've helped me a lot! Thanks!
