Upto 3 years or more than 3 years for dependent extension

Post by urbandude » Fri Sep 25, 2020 8:31 am

Hi,

My spouse has completed 2 years on Tier 2 General main (has visa for 3 years) and now switching job. New employer is providing CoS for 4 years. My current visa is valid for one more year and after that I have to apply for extension. So when I will apply for extension next year, I will be applying for 3 more years based on my spouse visa expiry. So while extension, do I have to choose "More than 3 years route" because my wife visa is based on more than 3 years. Or I can choose "up to 3 years route" as I only need visa for 3 years.

Thanks

Dependants’ duration of leave may be granted under 319D(a) or 319I(a).

The answer I got myself while trying to fill application. Even if dependent is applying for 1 month (considering they are joining late or already had valid leave). They still have to pay same visa fee, what is paid by main applicant.
