T2 dependent visa continuity

Post by Skyju » Mon Apr 12, 2021 2:24 pm

Hi all,

My husband currently on Tier2 General and eligible for ILR now. My husband visa is valid until May 2021. My kids and I have Tier2 visa dependants. Once My husband change from Tier2 General to ILR, I have a below question.

Dependent visa periods (my kids and I)
Tier 2 Dependent : April 2016 - Sep 2018
Tourist visa(stayed UK) : Feb 2019 - April 2019
Tier 2 Dependent : Jun 2019 - May 2021

So my question :
1. My visa’s continuity is broken, so I can’t apply ILR with my husband and I have to extend Tier 2 general dependent visa. Is this correct?
2. If I extend Tier 2 general dependent visa, I don’t need B1 English test and life in the UK test. Is this correct?

Tier 2 General route does not exist anymore. You should extend under the Skilled Worker dependant route which does NOT have a requirement for English language

Thank you for your reply.
I want to check one thing. You mean my visa continuity is broken. Is it Right?

Yes, it starts from scratch when they got their most recent PBS dependent visa in June 2019.
