Tier 4 Dependent Visa-Main Applicant Minimum Visa Remaining

Post by questionguy65 » Sun Mar 24, 2013 10:13 pm

Hi all,

Can my wife apply for a Tier 4 dependent visa when my Tier 4 student visa expires by the end of Jan 2014?

i.e. is there any minimum main applicant visa duration remaining rule to be eligible to apply for dependent visa for a family member?

FYI: my course is at level 7 (MSc) and finishes by the end of Sep (Course duration more than 12 month starting from Sep 2012). But the actual visa expires by the end of Jan 2014.

Thanks.

Your wife is your DEPENDENT. When your visa expire, hers will expire too. IF she is not in the UK, she can still apply to be your dependent but her visa will be valid until Jan 2014 (same as your visa expiry date)

You are the main applicant and only you are allowed to make switch-overs to any other categories, not her.
