Hi All,

My brother in law willing to come to UK from India on Tier 4 - student visa. He scored overall 6 bands. But in Reading, he only managed 5.

Can any one please advice what's the visa requirements?

Does he required 5.5 in each sections?

Hello Ankur,

It depends on his level of study and sponsor. For degree courses they require an overall score of 6.5 with not less then 5.5 each section but if he is not applying in a degree course then 6 bands should be fine but again you need to check with sponsor first

Wrong advice

If his course is level 5 or under than he needs B1 (band 4) in every discipline

If his level of course is 6 and above than he needs B2 (band 5.5) in every discipline.

Forget about overall band thing. It depends upon the college or uni but above Requirement is compulsory to get the visa.
