Please, I really need your help. I have been feeling devastated for weeks following my UK tier 4 student Visa refusal. I understand the refusal was based on contradicting response to my interview so I spoke with my school visahelp team who advised to get my interview transcripts from UKVI. The decision maker said I didn't do enough research to prove I am a genuine student while the transcripts says otherwise. I also applied for administrative review few days after I received the refusal letter. My school forwarded the transcripts and asked me to inform them of UKVI response 10 days ago but just discovered some amount in my account like ihs refund while still waiting for response on the administrative review. What does this mean? I am on scholarship and all my documents and information are very valid and up to date. I wanted to get a response to know if I can resume my academic session by January, 2020 since the decision made me miss out September intake. I don't want to lose my mind, I have really gone through a lot these past months. Please help.

Hello
Could you please share the refusal letter hiding any case number and personal details?
The concept of "genuine / non-genuine student" is purposefully vague. It gives the caseworker a lot of latitude /discretion to act according to his/her feelings from the interview.
Usually you have the right to Administrative Review. It means the same application will be considered by a different caseworker. You are not allowed to add any element to it.
I have seen ARs reversing a Tier 4 refusal when there was a blatant mistake from the original caseworker. Like the refusal was based on insufficient maintenance funds but the funds were sufficient... When something is tangible, the Home Office has no choice but to admit an error has been made.
However, if a caseworker says "I spoke with that applicant and he didn't convince me that he was a genuine student", it's much harder to find another caseworker who would feel so strongly that his colleague erred in his decision that he would accept to reverse it.
What's your immigration history in general and in the UK in particular?

Greetings,
Thank you for your response. Do you mean I should share the refusal letter here? I would like to share both the letter and the transcripts. If I have to post here, how do I go about it, please? Actually the letter doesn't tally with the transcripts which the school ordered & forwarded to me. The major difference and misconception is on the question that asked how many Universities I applied to of which I responded as 1. The decision maker mistook it for researching for only 1 University as not enough research. Whereas I clearly meant that I applied for 1 University that I met their criteria & also had my desired course of study.

Greetings again,
My immigration history is that I have never been to the UK nor any European countries. This was my first Visa application turned soured even before I could actualize my dreams.
Kindly put me through on how I can post my Visa interview transcripts here for you to comment. As it is, I am new here and looking for ways to get relief from all the stress of having to sell my personal belongings, taking loans to be able to proceed with the scholarship award I saw as a life changing opportunity. I need a positive way forward. I am so devastated and don't know what to do.
I pray I don't lose my mind while waiting without any knowledge as to when & what will happen next for months now.

Wait for the outcome of the Administrative Review. At the moment, you know they refunded the fees but you don't have the AR decision in hand.
You can take photos and hide any personal information. Upload the photos to imgur.com or similar service and get the "share links". Then post them here.
However, I have to be honest with you: if they refused the Tier 4 visa on credibility grounds and confirmed the same when you did an Administrative Review, it means they are not going to give you a Tier 4 at this point.
There was a misunderstanding about the number of universities you searched / considered but the casewokers build their conviction not on a single question but the impression they get from the interview as a whole. As the AR seem to have fail, you have no realistic further options to raise other points.
At this point, rather than stressing about this visa, I recommend trying the same route in a different country to avoid totally losing this year.

The AR has not failed because they have not contacted me ever since the school asked me to wait for a response from them. I understand it takes 15 - 28 working days and it's just 10 days my school forwarded me the transcripts from UKVI. The refund came 28 days after the refusal letter as they said which was barely 6 days I got the transcript email.
Though, I am still very positive that my AR will be overturned by the special grace of God Almighty, I was also advised by the agent handling the scholarship to try other countries & schools but that will be for January entry so that I don't lose it.
Thanks again for your response, I'll keep you posted as everything unfolds. I will share my life experiences to the world when there is life and fate permits.
