Hi everyone,
I need help with my niece's student visa and health situation.
She started her classes last September and finished one semester. She's almost done with her second semester, but she still has some work to do. Recently, she was diagnosed with a serious heart problem. She's in the hospital now and might have surgery in 2-3 weeks. After that, she'll need about three months to get better. Her doctors are okay with giving her a note to show she's too sick to study.
She paid Immigration health surcharge when she applied for her visa. Does this cover her surgery? The hospital hasn't mentioned any costs yet, but they did ask about her visa status.
What do we do about her visa and staying in the UK? Can she stay for around three months after her surgery to recover? And can she extend her visa while she's here?
We're having trouble finding answers online, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Best regards
