UK Student Visa Application

Post by family-doorie » Mon Mar 02, 2009 4:42 pm

Hi, I am seriously thinking of assisting my Aunty from Pakistan to apply for a Student Visa, we are thinking of her applying to a College to do a Beauty Therapy course (not University, if that makes any difference).

I have no idea on how to go about doing this? I have been in the UK with my Parents for more than 24 years and we have no family in the UK and have never been through any of this visitor or student visa process before.

Will she still need the IELTS or whatever it is called, even if it is a College and not a University?

What sort of income threshold is there when applying for a Student Visa?

Your help will be most appreciated.

Thanks

Why does she want to study in the UK? This is a question that will be asked of her.

She may not need IELTS, but her English should be good enough to follow the course. If she can get a good IELTS score it would be a bonus.

She has to have enough money to pay for the course & support herself without working, either through sponsorship or her own funds.
