Student Visa For My Wife - Problem?

Post by kayronjm » Sat Jun 13, 2009 12:56 pm

Hello all. I'm British and am a student in the UK. My wife is American and is starting an MSc this coming September (she already has her visa letter and has paid her 10% tuition fee deposit of £1,516).

Will it be a problem if she applies for a student visa?
I ask because she's married to me. Surely that wouldn't have any effect in the application, considering she's coming for an MSc. She'd obviously be living with me during her MSc anyway - we've already got accommodation arranged.

Her father can certainly sponsor her throughout her studies. He can show that he has more than enough money to pay her full tuition fees and maintain her throughout the MSc.

I'm 22 years old and my wife is 24, by the way.

I'm hoping there would be no problems. Please enlighten me if you can. Thank you!

Sudent visa should not be a problem. If she is married to you she can also apply for spouse visa which is better than student visa.
