Are Research students in abeyance mode allowed to work?

Post by rahul12345 » Sun Jul 19, 2009 10:28 pm

Hi,

I understand that students work part time. But can international research students who are in abeyance mode legally allowed to work part time? My situation is as follows:

I am a research student currently writing up my thesis. My one year writing up period is finishing soon and I don't think I can finish writing the thesis before it ends. Since after the writing up year ends I would have to pay full international fees, so I am thinkng to go into abeyance to avoid the fees and continue writing.

Any suggestions? Anyone who been in similar situation?

Thx.
