Current delay time for UK tier 4 visas in Canada

Post by Faraz1985 » Tue Aug 24, 2010 5:42 am

Has anyone recently sent their docs to Ottawa for visa approval?

From what I understand the consulate is in its busy season right now.

My application and accompanying docs arrived in Nepean (according to DHL, I sent my docs directly from the Worldbridge VAC in Edmonton, maybe they go from Nepean to Ottawa?) on Thursday, 19th of August, around 11 AM.

I've still not heard anything from Ottawa as far as a confirmation goes for receiving my docs. Is this much lag time normal? Should I be concerned? Would it hurt my chances of approval if I decided to call Ottawa and ask about this?

Thanks a lot for any help!

I'll add that I've seen the guidelines for processing times, it seems like 15 days is the threshold.

But is that from when Worldbridge send the forms out? Or from when the ECO sends me an email acknowledging receipt of my application forms?

If it is the latter then how long does the ECO usually take to send the email after the documents arrive at the BHC?
