switching psw's dependent into student

Hello
I am a dependent of PSW holder. My spouse is supposed to have a visa by switching psw into Tier 2 general but we havn't time for the CoS plus the employer is having a sponsor license application pending. Now our visas run out in a few weeks. Does anybody know if a dependent can switch into student without going back to home country? Dependents are not included in the "Who can switch into Tier4" the home office website says.
