Married on student visa

Post by elena2009 » Tue Sep 29, 2009 5:43 pm

Hello,

This month I got married to my husband (in the carribean so I did not need a COA). I'm just wondering if I need to mention anything to the home office. I'm on a student visa and will not be switching to a spousal visa for a few months as I'm not 21 yet. My university is aware that I'm married, so is there a need for me to notify anyone else?

Thanks for your help :)

Just call them and ask what to do for it, they will guide you better.

thanks UK_Banned_Member! Would I need to notify them about things like a surname change or change of address or is that not required either?

That's why I said Yes, your surname would be changed that will impact on your further documents...Its better you inform and take guidance from them..

Actually no you don't need to do anything. Until you change your visa, if you wish to change your passport to include your married. You could still travel on the old with your visa stamp just as long as you bring the new one as well.

Personally I wouldn't bother as it's unnecessary.

You need to download change of circumctances application form on ukba website, fill the form and send it to them. I did the same thing. Please don't be ignorant by calling or phoning . It is very mandatory to do it .
